I am anticipating this new book journey. I am never too old to learn and hopefully I will from this journey of yours. You are always interesting...never boring, and often entertaining.
Thank you for this column! I'm thinking about writing another book, and can use some of the things you mentioned for my own process. I'll be eagerly awaiting more about your process in writing a book.
I enjoy your writing! And am just starting a book myself, so I bit it and subscribed for the first time on any blog. I'm in Philomath. A former science writer (Oregonian, OSU). BTW Kninevel jumped the Snake River Canyon, not the Grand Canyon. ( ;
I get such joy out of your writing. I am looking forward to your writing the book project. Thanks for the adventures of 2024 and for the new adventure!
Wonderful Bob! You sound like the Energizer Bunny! I'll be following and wish you much fun and success. Beautiful photos and always smart to head to the coast when we have fog here in the valley! We spent our anniversary there...3 sunny days last month! #47...kinf of like Duck numbers!
I’ve enjoyed everything sent in 2024 and the opportunity to react and read others’ reactions. Looking forward to the adventures of 2025. Thanks, happy holidays to you and your family and,of course....onward 👏🥂
Mr. K never attempted to jump the Grand Canyon. He did make a failed attempt to cross the Snake River Canyon. I know this because a buddy of mine and I made a failed attempt to cross the country from NJ to Idaho to see this incredible event. Unfortunately my car broke half way across Pennsylvania just about the time we'd figured out that we'd have to drive close to 24 hours each of the 3 days at the speed limit with barely enough time left over to fill the gas tank or stop for food just to arrive the morning of the jump! Yes, I came up with this hair-brained idea as a 19 year old the week of the scheduled jump and it took nothing to convince my bud, (the other half of the "gold dust twins"), to tell our boss we were leaving and we wouldn't be back for 2 weeks. I guess business was a bit slow that month and he gave no objection.
That said, I'm looking forward to read about how your process works in this upcoming adventure of yours. At least you've had some practice at it and know the ropes - unlike two 19 year old kids...
Well there you go! I’m sure there will be many of us cheering you on and following to see if there’s a there there. See what I did there?

Bob: Looking forward to reading this. The creative process is always fascinating.
Also, I do so wish I could impart to the young reporters we work with at Eugene Weekly just how lazy and sloppy the words "there is" are in writing!
